If she's near Kew Gardens Cinema, which is a great place for arsty/independent/foreign films, there's Austin Ale House, which has a pretty good rep, and Mood, which is upscale. I haven't been to either as yet, so I can't vouch for them. On Queens Boulevard, there's Inca's and Pasta Lovers Trattoria. <BR/><BR/>As for not being able to get a decent cup of coffee... that's true.
